Luu Thi Kim Nhung, M.A., joined Faculty of English, Hanoi National University of Education, in 1988, after gaining her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and working as an interpreter and translator for two international cooperation agencies. Throughout these 15 years, she has undertaken various roles at the Faculty, namely teacher, teacher trainer, Head of Division of English Language Skills Development, Secretary of the Faculty’s Science and Academics Council, Vice Dean, and currently Dean of the Faculty.

Nhung’s research interests include topics in the areas of discourse analysis, English phonetics and phonology, corpus linguistics, and, more specifically, critical dícourse analysis. She has conducted research on English learner autonomy, the evaluation of the English language skills development syllabi, the employment of innovative EFL teaching techniques and English suprasegmentals. Her current research (for her doctoral study) takes critical discourse analysis as an approach to investigate English media texts on the issue of climate change.

• English as a Foreign Language Teaching Methodology
• Corpus linguistics (computer-assisted analysis of language)
